In what ways can an anthropologist doing fieldwork actually harm the people being studied?

The only way a field Anthropologist can do any harm to the people they are working with is if there is a disdain and lack of regard for the select study group. This cavalier attitude is always destructive all around and NEVER belongs in the mixture of science of any kind; After all, we are all equally entitled to be treated with respect and deference, and most especially if you are being hosted by other cultures! To treat your study group with anything less that complete respect is to disdain the very people you are enjoying being around!
