The Natural instincts of the es?

I don't believe there's much about modern human behaviour that has anything to do with natural instincts or historical roles. Don't we all just do what we want to do now? I believe both men and women can be nurturers and gatherers, and this is born out by the existence of many fine fathers and female employees, imo :-)
