Why do women so often want to ociate "" with "self esteem issues" when mentoring young women?

Its not a black and white issue. If you are a mature consenting adult and you can have with another consenting adult then you should. I think the self-esteem issues come to play when we talk about certain types of girls that have issues, like lack of a father figure, and they find that missing piece by having irresponsible with men. Women can be ual liberated, but the 16 year old girl that slept with everyone in school has issues.
